After extensive research and a workshop with adolescent Baltimore girls, we discovered that girls ages 8-14 in Baltimore City desired to learn new information from a trusted adult, or online. My group aimed to bring these elements together by creating a trustworthy online presence.
Naomi is an online presence which connects girls to hundreds of archived conversations concerning puberty and growing up. We hope these exchanges between Naomi and these different girls will educate girls going through similar experiences and help them start their own conversations with a trusted adult or peer.
In addition to a functional mobile site, our group also created several full dialogues, glossary page content,
illustrations and card hand-outs.
